About Us

Derek was awarded the designation of Chartered Accountant in 1998 while articling with an international accounting firm. Derek has also worked for a national accounting firm and a mid sized accounting firm based in Vancouver.

Shortly after completing the Chartered Accountant designation, Derek completed Parts I, II and III of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course. The In-Depth Tax course is offered to accountants and lawyers and is considered the most comprehensive, practical and relevant income tax training in Canada.

Over the course of his accounting career, Derek has provided accounting and income tax solutions in a variety of industries, including construction, farming, manufacturing, retail, service based and to professionals (doctors, dentists, engineers and lawyers).

Derek is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and is a registered preparer with the Internal Revenue Service for the preparation of US income tax returns.
